  1. TEC 1.4 Release

  3. This release is mainly a maintenace release as very little features have been added.  Mostly bugs have been fixed and support for new tables and encodings have been added.  Moreover, there is better integration with the System file but the work is not yet completed.

  5. Included in this release are the latest version of the software, headers,
  6. libraries, plus two sample applications along with all source code.  HTML versions of the
  7. documentation containing the latest changes will be forthcoming in Apple's Developer site:

  13. * Implement new UnicodeConverter options kUnicodeForceASCIIRangeBit and kUnicodeNoHalfwidthCharsBit.
  14. * Upgrade to support Unicode 2.1 (which becomes the default Unicode version).
  15. * Support the addition of EURO SIGN to Mac OS Roman and Mac OS Symbol.
  16. * Added mapping tables for some DOS encodings.
  17. * Add Unicode Converter support for EUC-JP.
  18. * Support 4-byte codeset 2 characters in EUC-TW.
  19. * GetTextEncodingName can now return many different localized names for any supported encoding.
  20. * UpgradeScriptInfoToTextEncoding and RevertTextEncodingToScriptInfo now support the new additions to Script.h.
  21. * Several changes to the Internet name mappings.
